Bookstore
The on-campus bookstore stocks a variety of goods and carries required materials
for course work at the college. Regular bookstore hours are 7:45 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. Evening hours (to 8:00 p.m.) are added during the first two weeks of the
semester; and the bookstore is open the first two Saturdays of each semester,
Monday-Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Business Office
The Business Services Office is responsible for collecting and disbursing money
on the Reedley College campus. This includes collecting fees for parking permits,
registration fees, and the disbursement of financial aid and payroll checks.
The Business Services Office is located in the Student Services Building. Counter
hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Fridays. The office is open one Saturday before school starts and
on Saturdays the first two weeks of the semester; hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m.

Counseling
Counselors are available in the Counseling Center to assist with academic advisement,
establishment of an educational plan to meet those goals. Counselors are available
by appointment or on a walk-in basis. The Counseling Center is located in the

Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSP&S)
Disabled Students Programs and Services provides specialized counseling, support
services, and resources to students with temporary or permanent disabilities.

Cafeteria
The campus cafeteria provides good food at reasonable prices to staff and students.
Meals and snacks are available throughout the day. The cafeteria is open 7:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday though Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Transfer Center
The Transfer Center assists students with the transition from Reedley college
to a baccalaureate level college or university. The Center provides a variety
of informational resources for students about the Universities of California,
California State Universities, California private colleges, and many out of
state colleges. Additionally, the Transfer Center sponsors field trips each
semester to visit baccalaureate level colleges within California. The Transfer
Center is located within the Counseling Center in the Student Services building.

Tutoring
The Tutorial Center offers free individual and small-group tutoring to all Reedley
college students. Tutoring is available in most classes. Participants receive
assistance designed to help them improve subject understanding, study skills,
and test preparation. The Center also maintains a large collection of study
skills reference materials for students interested in developing or improving
their study methods. The Tutorial Center is located in HUM 58, and is open Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Veterans Affairs Office
The Veterans Affairs Office is designed to meet the education needs of the veterans,
dependents of veterans, and National Guard/Reservists who are using their educational
benefits. The office is located in the Financial Aid Office, upstairs in the
Student Services Building on the main campus in Reedley. This office handles
all of the veterans claims for the Reedley Campus and all the off campus sites,
including the North Centers in both Clovis and Madera.

Upward Bound: A TRIO Program
The Upward Bound Program provides selected first generation college-bound high
school students from Reedley, Parlier and Washington Union High Schools with
tutoring and instructional Saturday sessions. Services include counseling, career
development, community service projects, and other experiences that help them
succeed in secondary and post-secondary institutions.

Residence Hall
Choosing to live in the Sequoia Residence Hall is one of the best ways to adjust
to college life while building a strong network of friends. Sequoia Hall offers
a variety of leadership opportunities in the Residence Hall and on campus. It
is an air-conditioned, carpeted, two-story living facility with separate housing
facilities for men and women. Also, rooms are available and accessible for students
with disabilities.

Library
The library is a learning resource center which includes the periodical room,
two conference rooms, a computer lab, and equipment for viewing video cassettes.
Library hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday
through Thursday. Friday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday hours
are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Library Computer Lab
The Library Computer Lab hours are 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday,

Pete P. Peters Honors Program
The Honors Program is designed to challenge students with a customized curriculum
and reward their efforts through priority registration, scholarship, and field
trips. Students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in high
school and plan to continue their pursuit in college and then at a four-year
university are admitted to Reedley College under the designation "Honors
at Entrance." They begin a two-year sequence of classes and activities
to prepare them for transfer to the best four-year institutions.

CalWORKs Program
CalWORKs stands for California Work Opportunities and Responsibity to Kids.
It replaces AFDC (Aid to Families With Dependent Children) and the GAIN Program.
Anyone who is receiving cash aid from a county welfare department is eligible.
The CalWORKS Program provides employment training, career counseling, child
care, work study, work experience, and job placement. Each week students must
participate in 32 hours of learning and work activities. Upon signing the Welfare-t
Work Plan, students will need to complete an instructional program in 18 months.

Health Service
Health Service provides nursing assessment for ill or injured students. Students
may be referred to local medical providers for further care at reasonable costs.
Insurance options are available to students and their families. Confidential
professional counseling is offered through Psychological Services. Immunizations
for Hepatitus B, MMR, plus tuberculin skin tests are given. Hearing and vision
tests are offered. Almost all services are covered by the health fee. Timely
health seminars and wellness activities are sponsored throughout the year.

Adapted computer equipment is available in the High Tech Center is located in
the Disabled Students Programs and Services Building. Training, assistance,
and resource information in the use of adaptive computer technology and software
programs for students with disabilities are available.

GEAR UP
(Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs)
The GEAR UP program is an educational and community partnership preparing 7th
grade students through their high Unified School District, Parlier Unified School
District, and Reedley Collage are the educational partners that will provide
special academic support, guidance and counseling, career awareness, and other
college readiness activities. Combined with community organizations and parent
involvement, the GEAR UP program provide
Assessment Center
All students entering Reedley College for the first time (or re-entering after
a 3-year absence) must take a placement test for advising purposes. This assessment
test measures your skill level in Reading Comprehension, Sentence Structure,
and Arithmetic or Elementary Algebra, and is used as a guide by you and your
counselor in determining which classes you should take first. The test is available
either on computer (by appointment only) or via paper and pencil testing. The
computers are located in the Assessment Center which is in the Disabled Students
Programs and Services (DSP&S) building. Assessment Center hours are Monday
through Friday, from 8-5 p.m., excluding major holidays. The Assessment Center
is open Saturdays at the beginning and end of each semester. The paper and pencil
testing is offered at various times on campus throughout the semester. Please
call the Assessment Center for the current schedule.
Also offered in the Assessment Center is the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test that
is used for financial aid purposes. For English as a Second Language (ESL) students,
the Combined English Language Skills Assessment (CELSA) test is offered at various
times throughout the semester.

ASB (Associated Student Body)
The Associated Student Student Body (ASB) is the student government of the college.
Students have the option of purchasing an ASB card which entitles the cardholder
to run for office and vote in student elections. It also allows them to receive
various school and community discounts.
Athletics
Intercollegiate athletics are available to students at Reedley College. All
those who participate in athletics are required to fulfill eligibility requirements
for residence and scholarship. Athletes are advised to check with the appropriate
coach for information on these requirements. The college is a member of the
Central Valley Conference and the California Community College Commission on
Athletics.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
Students in need of financial assistance may be eligible for help through the
Financial Aid Office. Federal assistance is available in the form of grants,
scholarships, loans, and college work-study.
Child Care
A licensed child care facility is available to Reedley College students with
children between the ages of six weeks and six years. Regular hours for child
care are: M-F, 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.
