Continuing Students
Files of continuing students were reviewed
during the first two weeks in August for satisfactory progress,
i.e., counseling, units completed, GPA, etc.
Students who are eligible for book
services are coded EV in the STMC field 10 and listed in the voucher
list.
A letter was sent to those students
informing them of their eligibility for a $250 voucher with the
condition they make an appointment to see their OASIS counselor
during the first four weeks of the semester.
Once the counseling appointment has
been made, and student attends first class meeting, he/she can go
to the bookstore and access voucher (OASIS will establish a line
of credit for $250 for the purchase of textbooks only and student
can charge anytime during the first three weeks of the semester).
Students with late starting classes
who have a balance on their line of credit will need to see the
director for approval to access the balance to purchase their textbooks.
Requesting an extension on the voucher credit line is contingent
on the student having seen an OASIS counselor at least once during
the current term.
New Students
To be considered for an OASIS Book
Voucher, the new student must be accepted into the OASIS program
not only by verification and application completion; the student
must also have attended an OASIS program orientation, one counseling
session with an OASIS counselor and have a current SEP on file.
New Students entering the OASIS program
who have been disqualified from financial ad because of unsatisfactory
academic progress or who are on academic probation may not be considered
for a book voucher. The director will determine acceptance and eligibility
for a book voucher on a case-by-case basis.
Madera students follow the same procedures
with Yer Lee or come to the Reedley campus to satisfy the program
requirement.
Clovis students must come to the Reedley
Campus to satisfy program requirements.
DSPS students are still required to
attend an OASIS program orientation. Either individually or in a
group setting with the director. Additionally, the DSPS student
must meet with the program director each term to review the DSPS/OASIS
agreement and verify continued participation. A current completed
4-6 semesters SEP must also be in OASIS student file.
